    1.  Who We Are

    John Robertson (trading as Rise Services) operates the website riseservices.co.uk and sells Google Ads automation scripts and installation services to businesses in the UK and internationally.

    We are the data controller for personal data collected through our website, checkout, and communications. This means we decide how and why your data is used, and we are responsible for keeping it safe.

    2.  What Data We Collect

    2.1  Data you give us directly

    When you purchase a product, book an installation call, or contact us, we may collect:

    • your name and email address

    • your billing address and payment details (processed securely via Shopify Payments we do not store card numbers)

    • your business name and website URL, if provided

    • the content of any messages or emails you send us

    • any information you provide during an installation call via Calendly

    2.2  Data collected automatically

    When you visit riseservices.co.uk, we and our third-party tools automatically collect certain technical information, including:

    • your IP address and approximate location

    • browser type and version

    • pages visited, time on site, and referring URLs

    • device type and operating system

    • cookie identifiers (see Section 7 for full cookie details)

    2.3  Data from advertising platforms

    If you arrive at our site via a paid advert on Google or Meta (Facebook/Instagram), those platforms may pass us limited data about the interaction, such as click identifiers, to help us measure campaign performance. This is subject to their own privacy policies.

    We only use your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so under the UK GDPR. The table below sets out what we use your data for and why we are legally allowed to do so.

    We use a number of trusted third-party services to operate the business. Each receives only the data they need to perform their function.

    Shopify

    Our e-commerce platform. Processes your order, payment, and checkout data. Shopify is certified PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.

    Processes card payments securely. We do not have access to your full card details.

    Used to book your installation call. When you book, Calendly collects your name and email address.

    Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics)

    We use Google Ads to run search advertising and Google Analytics to understand website traffic. Google may use cookies and identifiers to measure ad performance.

    Meta (Facebook / Instagram Ads)

    We may run adverts on Meta platforms. Meta's pixel may collect data about your visit to help us measure campaign performance and build audiences.

    Used to automate workflows such as post-purchase notifications. Only processes data required for that specific automation.

    If you subscribe to marketing emails, your name and email are stored with our email marketing provider.

    5.  International Data Transfers

    Some of our third-party providers — including Shopify, Google, Meta, and Calendly — may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses, in line with UK GDPR requirements.

    6.  How Long We Keep Your Data

    • kept for 2 years from the date of the last communication. Customer support emails:

    • kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Marketing email subscribers:

    • retained in aggregated, anonymised form. IP addresses are not stored beyond the session. Website analytics data:

    • retained in line with Calendly's own data retention policy. Calendly booking data:

    Once data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

    7.  Cookies

    Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to make the site work, understand how it is used, and to run advertising campaigns.

    Strictly necessary cookies

    These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include cookies set by Shopify to manage your session and shopping cart.

    Analytics cookies

    We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use riseservices.co.uk. This helps us improve the site. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent.

    Advertising and targeting cookies

    • You can ask for your data in a structured, machine-readable format. Right to data portability

    • You can object to us processing your data on the basis of legitimate interests, including for direct marketing. Right to object

    • Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. Right to withdraw consent

    To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@riseservices.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month. We will not charge you for these requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

    9.  Data Security

    We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include:

    • relying on PCI DSS compliant payment processing via Shopify Payments

    • limiting access to personal data to those who need it to operate the business

    • using reputable, security-vetted third-party providers


    In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and inform affected individuals without undue delay where required.

    10.  Children

    Our products and services are intended for business users and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

    11.  Links to Other Websites

    Our website may contain links to third-party sites. Once you leave riseservices.co.uk, we have no control over those sites and this privacy policy does not apply to them. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any site you visit.

    12.  Changes to This Policy

    We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the version date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email where we hold your contact details.
